About the designer...
Sharon received her training in Richmond,
Virginia in the form of private tutoring by a leading East
Coast landscape architect. While living there for 8 years, she
worked on many historical estates, restoring and renovating
gardens. One estate was used by Robert E. Lee as an arsenal
during the Civil War and the cannons Lee's men used are still
there today. Many of these gardens are a blend of true old
world style with a little southern flavor mixed in.
Being a true Texan at heart, Sharon returned
to Austin in 1994 and has created gardens in Austin and the
Texas hill country since that time. Although European style
gardens remain a favorite, she has created many wonderful
contemporary and natural gardens for her clients' enjoyment.
Sharon's designs have been featured on HGTV
and photographed by Southern Living Magazine. Along
with helping her many clients, she is also an insturctor at
Austin Community College, teaching landscape
graphics and design. Garden articles that Sharon has written
have appeared in the Westlake Picayune and
she is currently writing a college level textbook on garden
design.
